The University of West Florida community will come together October 16, 2026, to celebrate the inauguration of Manny Diaz Jr., the University’s seventh president. The ceremony will mark a new chapter in UWF’s history, bringing together students, faculty, staff, alumni, community leaders and friends of the University to celebrate where UWF has been and where it’s going.
About President Diaz
Manny Diaz Jr. became the seventh president of the University of West Florida in February 2026 after serving as interim president since July 2025. He brings a record of leadership, public service and a deep commitment to education and opportunity.
As president, Diaz is leading UWF into its next chapter as a nationally recognized institution serving students and communities across Northwest Florida and beyond.
