GIS at UWF

Bringing geospatial research and Geographic Information Science (GIS) to regional partners, faculty, and undergraduate and graduate students at UWF and around the world via online and face-to-face Certificates, degree coursework, and training academies.

Who We Are

At the University of West Florida, we offer undergraduate and graduate coursework that contributes to a GIS master's degree, certificates, and minor. We also offer online training academies, face-to-face workshops at the UWF GeoData Center, and even a free MOOC (Massive Online Open Course) "Introduction to GIS". All of these options provide a foundation of GIS content and mentor applications of these techniques to ensure you have the tools to obtain or enhance your geospatial career.

The home of GIS at UWF is the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, where our GeoData Center provides face-to-face instruction for students and all necessary support for geospatial research by students, faculty, and our regional partners. Our undergraduate and graduate certificate programs are 100% online, with options in the realms of Archaeology and Cybersecurity. We also offer a Master's of Science in GIS Administration recognized as a Professional Science Master's degree.
