The GeoData center is the hub of GIS activity at UWF. Courses taught in the center include:

Two internet mapping servers (IMS) provide the general public access to GIS databases such as Saint Michael’s Cemetery interactive map and the PERCH water quality study. Students in the GeoData center have access to a 6TB SQL Server databases via direct connect or ArcSDE, and a remote install / license server.

The GeoData center has just added a dedicated research facility equipped with 6 dual 3GHz Xeon powered workstations for advanced GIS analysis. Additional hardware available through the GeoData center includes a Sokkia total survey station, a Trimble Pro XR GPS unit, and a handheld GPS unit running Windows CE and ArcPad.
The center is staffed by 1 full time staff member and 2 student employees. The center also houses numerous spatial datasets for the state of Florida including DRGs, DOQQ(s) and 6" color aerial photography.
