Description:

Now that you know how a battery works from your science classes, power up your knowledge of the science of electricity and exciting careers you can prepare for now.

• Learn how different fuels become electricity
• Learn how that power is  transmitted from power plants to your home
• Take a field trip to a power plant and experience generation first-hand
  • June 16th
    • Stop 1: Plant Crist
    • Stop 2: Perdido Landfill
• Learn to complete an energy audit on your home
• Investigate the latest technology in energy sources and energy management and how those affect the environment
• Conduct science-based experiements and activities

Parents:

This experience will expose your children to all aspects of the "science of energy" including traditional and renewable sources, as well as skills needed to be a part of providing energy for the future.  Students will be doing science-based lessons that give an inside look at the electricity industry. These lessons will also provide materials to apply at home that demonstrate energy efficiency and provide a higher level understanding of the future of electricity generation.

Afternoon Adventure:

For around $35.00 a week, your child can join us in "Afternoon Adventure" after your full day summer program's activities are over at 3:00 P.M. Afternoon Adventure is an extended care option where participants are actively engaged until 5:30 P.M. This is great for parents who are unable to get away from the office for regular pick-up time at 3:00 P.M. Register for Afternoon Adventures here.
