The 2008 Explore Summer Camps are composed of an array of day camps for campers rising to the 1st grade through the 12th grade,(no older than 17 years of age regardless of grade). Explore Summer Camps are designed to provide enrichment programs to their summer months. These programs focus on all academic areas: science, math, reading, writing and art.
From camps like Cartoon Camp that focuses not only on art, but on writing, to Robotics Camp that foucses on science and math, we offer a variety of camps to fit the needs of your children. Our camps are designed with inspiration from our previous years of feedback.
Explore Summer Camps was designed in 2006 through the Division of Continuing Education at the University of West Florida. Many years prior to this merge, summer camp programs have been offered on the University's campus. As our motto is to "Learn More. Live Better", we take pride in offering the best summer camp programs with a very secure setting.
The Explore Summer Camps hand selects its staff instructors. Most of our instructors come from our local school districts or are on faculty at the University of West Florida. At the time the time of hire, a thorough background check is conducted to ensure we are hiring the best. Our staff is committed to providing a safe and fun environment while offering a variety of age appropriate, exciting and enjoyable activities.
The majority of our camps run from 9:00am to 3:00pm, providing all-day summer education and enjoyment. In addition to camp hours, we offer Early Bird Care (7:30-8:30 am) and Afternoon Adventures (extended care from 3:15-5:30pm) for additional cost.
“All of our Explore UWF Camps were carefully designed to be engaging and fun for the kids,” said Pamela Northrup, Associate Provost for Academic Innovation and Continuing Education.. “If you look into the curriculum, kids are learning math, science, language arts, reading, problem-solving, creativity and teamwork.”
Explore Summer Camp 2008 begins June 8th and will end August 8th. During these two full months your child can enjoy the summer while also learning academically in an authentic environment.
