K-6 Elementary/ESOL The Division offers two specializations leading to the Bachelor of Arts degree. The traditional NCATE/DOE approved specialization. The other specialization is Educational Studies and it is an NCATE approved program. Middle School Education Certification Program The B.A. degree program in Middle Level Education is designed to prepare students who plan to teach in grades 5-9. Age 3 - Grade 3 Pre-Kindergarten/Primary Education/ESOL Certification Program The B.A. program in Pre-Kindergarten and Primary Education will prepare graduates to teach preschool through third grade. This program offers opportunities for the student to recognize the child as the central figure in education, provide for exceptions among leaders, and plan multicultural educational experiences. K-12 Exceptional Student Ed/Elementary/ESOL/Reading Education The B.A. degree program in Exceptional Student Education/Elementary Ed/ESOL/Reading Education is designed to prepare students who plan to teach children and youth with exceptionalities and/or elementary K-6 grades. The Exceptional Student/Elementary/ESOL/Reading education Specialization is an NCATE/DOE approved specialization. The other specialization is Educational Studies and it is an NCATE approved program. Career and Technical Studies The teacher education sequence prepares students to work in career academies and career institutes at the high school level.
