Lieutenant Colonel Henry Delacruz is an Armor Officer assigned as the Chair and Professor of Military Science (PMS) for the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) at UWF.
He graduated from the Citadel with a Bachelor of Arts in History and from Webster University with a Master of Arts in Management. He is a commissioned U.S. Army officer with more than 23 years experience; he has been at UWF since 2014.
Prior to serving at UWF, Delacruz was the Chief of the Training and Development Enterprise -- Workload Management Branch at the Training Management Directorate in Fort Leavenworth; the 2nd Infantry Division Deputy G3 Training and Exercises at Camp Red Cloud, South Korea; and a Battalion Executive Officer and Brigade Operations Officer with the 194th Armored Brigade, at Fort Benning.
Delacruz served in combat as the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division Civil Affairs Officer (S9) in West Baghdad during the “Surge” Operation Iraqi Freedom 06-08; and as a Company Commander with B Company, 1st Battalion, 77th Armor Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division during Operation Iraqi Freedom II. Delacruz also commanded Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 77th Armor Battalion; and was a Division G3 Assistant Plans Officer in the 1st Infantry Division.
Delacruz is a graduate of the Armor Officer Basic Course, Armor Advance Course, Airborne School, and the US Army Command and General Staff College.
Delacruz’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal with one Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Achievement Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Kosovo Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon with numeral four, NATO Ribbon, Parachutist Badge, Combat Action Badge, the Order of Saint Maurice and Order of Saint George.
