Students will take on the role of a medical examiner as they work to analyze a mysterious death. Students will determine the possible causes of death for a victim, study the human body systems, understand how they interact with one another, know many of their malfunctions and diseases, and explore the medical interventions and diagnostic tools used to treat disease.

Students will learn how to use deductive reasoning to determine probable malfunctions, diseases, and disorders associated with the human body. These hands-on, inquiry based activities will promote critical thinking skills and reinforce key biological concepts. The use of technology will give students the opportunity to investigate current research in the field of medicine and evaluate the credibility of web-based data and materials.
Final showcase will be student presentations revealing the cause of a mysterious death to include a prepared autopsy report and a summary of the different body systems affected in the victim.
