Phonathon FAQ
UWF Phonathon frequently asked questions.
Who am I speaking to during my call?
Each semester UWF students are interviewed, hired, and trained to work this on-campus job. These ambitious Argos are currently studying in a wide array of disciplines, and involved in many different campus and community activities.
How long will my call last?
Most of our calls last 5 minutes on average, but is all based upon your availability. Our callers would love to hear stories about your time at UWF, your current career, and any education or career advice you can provide them! However, if you are tight on time when the student calls, let them know and they will be considerate of your time constraints.
When should I expect a call?
UWF's Phonathon operates Monday through Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. CST and Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. CST.
Why am I called so frequently?
The system we use for UWF's Phonathon is set up with an automated dialer, so each time we don't reach you or are unable to complete the call if you are unavailable at the moment, your number is recycled in the system and you will receive another phone call. To complete your call, we ask that you take about 5 minutes of your time to speak with one of our callers.
How are you calling me if my number is on the Do Not Call Registry?
The Do Not Call Registry is to prohibit sales calls. You may still receive political calls, charitable calls, debt collection calls, informational calls, and telephone survey calls. The UWF Foundation is a 501c3 charitable organization.
