Dr. Mikia Carter

Biography

Dr. Mikia Carter serves as the Associate Director of Student Engagement at the University of West Florida. In her role, she provides leadership and oversight for the Student Government Association, Family Programs, Fraternity and Sorority Life, UWF’s Welcome Weeks—Argo Arrival and Spring it On and other student engagement initiatives.

Dr. Carter’s professional passions and research interests include mental health and self-care, first-generation college students, student engagement, and curriculum and assessment. She is passionate about creating meaningful experiences that support student success, leadership development and a strong sense of belonging within the university community.

In her spare time, Dr. Carter enjoys spending time with family and friends, powerlifting, practicing yoga, trying new recipes and painting.
