A TeacherReady Journey That Began Overseas

This TeacherReady graduate’s journey to their certification began overseas. Kayla chose TeacherReady while working full-time as an English teacher in South Korean public schools based on positive recommendations from fellow educators teaching abroad.

TeacherReady provided the structure and guidance she needed to confidently pursue a career in education. Through the program, Kayla developed a strong understanding of state standards, lesson planning, assessments and classroom management. She highlights the flexibility of the program, which allowed her to work full-time and complete her studies in a low-stress, supportive environment. 

Reflecting on her experience, Kayla shared, “Getting my certificate was just the first step—but a big one! There’s so much more to learn and so much further I can go, but only because I took that first step with TeacherReady.” 

She shared that what she loves most about teaching is witnessing the moment learning clicks in a student. Seeing their curiosity turn into confidence is not only empowering for the students but also reinforces her own confidence as an educator.

Looking ahead, Kayla is exploring the next steps in her professional journey, including the possibility of pursuing a Master of Education degree.
