Retired Employees Association
Staying Informed. Keeping Involved.
About UWF REA
The University of West Florida Retired Employees Association (UWF REA) connects retired faculty, staff, and administrators with one another and with the University community.
As an entity within the Division of University Advancement, UWF REA:
- Keeps members informed about university news, benefits, and engagement opportunities
- Promotes fellowship and the well-being of retired employees
- Supports the educational, research, and service missions of UWF
- Fosters a continuing relationship between retirees and the University
Retirement is not the end of your UWF journey — it’s a new way to stay connected.
Our History
The UWF Retired Employees Association was established in 2006 by a dedicated steering committee of retirees who saw the value in maintaining strong connections to the University and to one another.
Nearly two decades later, REA continues to thrive in 2026, led by an active Board of Directors committed to serving its members and strengthening retiree engagement. Through the years, REA has played an important role in supporting University initiatives, fostering community, and contributing to lasting campus legacies — including the UWF Camellia Garden.
UWF REA Membership
UWF REA is open to all UWF retired employees — faculty, staff, and administrators — as well as other interested individuals.
Not retired yet? You can still join!
Membership is established through an annual $50 donation to the Retired Employees Association Foundation account. Membership is active from July 1 through June 30 each year.
