  • Student Capacity: 10 (or more) students per academic year. Flexible intake (e.g., 6 in Fall, 4 in Spring).
  • Work Hours:
    • Fall and Spring Semesters: Minimum of 10 hours per week, with a recommended maximum of 25 hours per week.
    • Summer: During the summer, UWF training is paused, allowing students to work flexible hours with no minimum or maximum limits, accommodating both employer and student needs. This is a decision made between the employer and student.
  • Hourly Rate: Commensurate with job responsibilities; minimum of $15 per hour.
  • Titles: Students can be called Student Associates, Interns, Year-Round Interns, or Part-Time Employees, depending on your company's preference.

  • Provide Mentors: Each student will be paired with an employee mentor who has been with your organization 3-5 years or more. One employee may mentor multiple students, as long as each student gets monthly one-on-one meetings with their mentor.
  • Mentor Training: UWF will train mentors on best practices on how to be a great mentor.
  • Mentor Engagement: Monthly meetings with student mentees and invitations to program events.
  • Resources & Events: Mentors receive resources and event invitations with speakers and networking opportunities.

Investment

  • Fee for Service/Scholarship:
    • Fall 2024 Pilot: No additional financial requirements.
  • Future Costs: Potential fees for program sustainability, covering recruiting, training, student development, resources & materials, and mentoring management.
