Biography

Laura Swann, Ed.S., NBCT is a leadership trainer, highly skilled facilitator, successful instructional coach, and highly qualified educator.
At the University of West Florida, she is the Assistant Director of the Office of Workforce Development, aligning education with career success and economic growth. She also designed a STEM Coaching program developing peer coaches, creating effective coaching maps, and publishing her team's work in a peer-reviewed publication.

Laura’s career is characterized by her strong leadership abilities, innovative problem-solving skills, and a passion for developing and implementing successful training programs. She has a proven track record of leading and inspiring team members of varying experience and backgrounds, both in person and virtually. Her expertise extends to facilitating leadership development through renowned methodologies such as Cognitive Coaching, DISC, Strengthsfinders, and Fierce Conversations.

During her time as an Instructional Coach with Fairfax County Public Schools, Laura was instrumental in developing high-functioning teams, analyzing data, and implementing research-based practices. Her efforts led to significant improvements in reading and science scores, demonstrating her commitment to educational excellence and leadership capacity building. She earned her National Board Certification in Middle Childhood as a fourth and fifth grade teacher. Prior to teaching, Laura worked on education policy for a Fortune 500 company, a nonprofit and on Capitol Hill.

Laura holds an Education Specialist degree with an Administration and Supervision Endorsement from the University of Virginia, a Master of Education from Marymount University, and a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Economics and Political Science from Emory University.
Beyond her professional achievements, Laura is deeply involved in her community. She is a proud member of Leadership Pensacola’s Class of 2019 and is actively engaged in numerous organizations such as Pensacola Bay Area Impact 100, Chi Omega Alumnae of Pensacola, Pensacola Women's Alliance, and Junior League of Pensacola. In addition, she enjoys leading leadership book group conversations.

Laura is a visionary dedicated to fostering growth, innovation, and excellence in every endeavor she undertakes. Her enthusiasm, positive outlook, and self-reliance make her a valuable asset to the teams and community she serves.
