Biography
MSG Houston Hampton was born in Mexico, Missouri and raised the middle of three boys.
MSG Hampton has held numerous duty positions during his 18-year career. Upon arrival at his first duty station, Ft. Campbell, KY, he was assigned to 1-327 IN, where he deployed in support of OEF 10-11 as a Fire Team Leader. Upon return from Kunar Province, he PCS’d to 2-503 IN, 173rd (ABN), where he deployed as a Squad Leader in support of OEF 12-13. Upon return from Wardak Province, he served as a Squad Leader and an Advisor in support of Operation Central Accord in Cameroon, Africa. He then completed Ranger School Class 006-14. He PCS’d to Fort Riley, KS where he served as a Bradley Section Leader and Platoon Sergeant during the re-activation of 2-70th Armor Regiment. He was then fwd-deployed from Kuwait to Sinai, Egypt in support of the security efforts at the Multi-National Forces and Observers (MFO-North Camp). Upon return from deployment, he was the Honor Graduate of Bradley Master Gunner Course 004-16. 1SG Hampton served as a Company and Battalion Bradley Master Gunner before PCS to Eglin AFB, FL as a U.S. Army Ranger School Instructor. After three years of instructing, he PCS’d to 2-23 IN, Fort Carson, CO and deployed to Al Tanf, Syria. He served as a Platoon Sergeant & First Sergeant. He then PCS'd back to Eglin AFB, FL and served as a First Sergeant of U.S. Army Ranger School Instructors & HHC 1SG for three years. MSG Hampton is a member of the Sergeant Audie Murphy Club and Sergeant Morales Club. Add’l schools he has completed (not previously mentioned): Jumpmaster School, Pathfinder School, Airborne School, Air Assault School, Javelin Course (Top Gun Grad), Combat LifeSaver Course, Combatives, Army Instructor Course, Warrior Leaders Course, Advanced Leaders Course, Senior Leaders Course (Distinguished Honor Graduate), & Master Leaders Course.
MSG Hampton’s awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal two Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal with “V” device and two Silver Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal with two Silver Oak Leaf Clusters, Meritorious Unit Citation with two Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Good Conduct Medal with four knots, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Operation Inherent Resolve Medal, Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, NATO (ISAF) Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Ranger Tab, Master Gunner Badge, Combat Infantryman Badge, Expert Infantryman Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, and the Expert Marksmanship Qualification Badge.
MSG Hampton is married to Monica Renee and together they raise their two young men, Kaden (20) and Mason-Dean (14).
