Shoulder to Shoulder, HIP to HIP

Global Hospitality & Tourism Management has developed a new High Impact Practices (HIP) program.


Purpose: To weave theory and practice together in the hospitality classroom by collaborating with hospitality industry professionals to deliver 2-4 lectures.

Goals: Student engagement, higher attendance, better industry connections, avenue for industry professionals to investigate formal academic teaching.

Outcomes: Produce and share authorship for a scholarly article and/or presentation to the hospitality education community.

High Impact Practices (HIP) is a technique used in higher education to enhance the educational experience. It is a specific focus at the University of West Florida, Lewis Bear Jr. College of Business, and the Global Hospitality and Tourism Management Department.
