Sport Management Internships
The Department of Commerce encourages students to pursue internship opportunities to gain hands-on experience and the opportunity to apply concepts learned in the classroom. An internship is an important experience for career readiness, enhances a student's resume, and can elevate a student's application for graduate education and professional schools.
A strength of the Sport Management program is its emphasis on real-world experience. The program provides ample hands-on experience for students, a must for prospective employers in the sport industry. Internships are highly encouraged.
Students may have local, national and international internship experiences. Some examples of local internship organizations include the following:
- Gulf Breeze Parks and Recreation
- Gulf Coast Texans Youth Academy Soccer
- Pensacola Blue Wahoos
- Pensacola Futbol Club
- Pensacola Ice Flyers
- Pensacola Sports Association
- Stonebrook Golf Club
- UWF Intercollegiate Athletics (multiple UWF sport management programs)
- West Florida Baseball Academy
Please note that listed internship opportunities are meant to serve as examples of possible positions. Availability varies based on a number of factors, and there is no guarantee of securing a specific position.
