Marisa Cooper

Biography

Marisa L. Cooper, M.Acc., is an Instructor in the Department of Accounting & Finance in the University of West Florida's Lewis Bear Jr. College of Business. She earned her Master of Accounting and B.S.B.A. in Accounting from the University of South Alabama. Since joining UWF in 2018, she has taught a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses, including Principles of Financial Accounting, Principles of Managerial Accounting, Cost Accounting, and Taxation of Individuals.

In addition to her academic work, Cooper brings extensive professional accounting experience to the classroom through her work in private practice, where she provides tax preparation, bookkeeping, and business consulting services. Her background also includes leadership roles in nonprofit and governmental accounting.

Cooper has been recognized for excellence in teaching, including the UWF Student Government Association Distinguished Teaching Award and the UWF Lewis Bear Jr. College of Business Adjunct Faculty Excellence Award.
