Biography

Taxie Lambert, an advocate for teen dating violence prevention, holds an undergraduate degree in education from the University of West Florida. Her journey is marked by profound resilience and dedication to empowering young girls. After enduring a decade-long domestic violence relationship and tragically losing her first-born daughter, Desirea, to an act of domestic violence, Taxie rebuilt her life. She remarried and is now raising another daughter who is 13 years old.

Determined to prevent other girls from experiencing similar pain, Taxie is pursuing her passion to educate the youth about teen dating violence by bringing awareness to the Northwest Florida area. She founded the 4EVR DEZ Foundation, named after her daughter Desirea, a 501c3 nonprofit that aims to bring out the inner empowerment in teenage girls, helping them to build self-confidence, self-esteem, and self-worth through her two movements Project Formal and Project Period. Project Formal is the lead project under the 4EVR DEZ umbrella. Through her free formal dress program, Taxie ensures that girls in under-resourced communities have positive social interactions such as attending formal events at school. A free formal dress goes beyond the fabric and thread. A formal dress allows a stepping stone for girls to value their worth and a sense of belonging while building self-confidence and self-esteem.

Taxie doesn’t stop at a free formal dress, she expanded her reach to empower young girls who lack resources to afford feminine products. To break the stigma about period poverty, Taxie moves feminine emergency packs inside schools to keep girls in class and attendance up during period cycles. To date, Taxie has provided 600 students with free formal wear and moved 1000 emergency packs inside Northwest Florida schools.

In addition to her nonprofit work, Taxie has a background pursuing justice for the injured where she works as an Administrative Director at Rafferty Domnick Cunningham and Yaffa.

Taxie also provides speaking engagements to mothers grieving the loss of a child and to girls, raising awareness about dating violence and promoting prevention strategies.
