Creativity Happens Here

As a communications major, being creative enough to appeal to a dynamic group of people is a big part of your education and an even larger part of your future career. Whether your career path requires graphic design, journalism, public relations or even social media content creation, communication takes thinking outside of the box and creating something impactful. While at UWF, I have had the opportunity to have a creative outlet through my education, clubs and, most recently, as a member of the UWF Street Team.

Alongside classes that teach me the important fundamentals for a career in communications, I have started working with the UWF Street Team. The Street Team is a group of students who help create content for UWF’s social media platforms. We attend campus events, model in marketing photo and video shoots, and show what life is like as a student at the University of West Florida. We also support UWF’s Social Media Specialist by coming up with content ideas, which allows us to help create content that is meaningful for the whole Argo community. Being on the Street Team is an amazing experience that has broadened my network of resources and allowed me to explore my creative endeavors in a professional setting.

At UWF, there are many ways to get plugged into professional experiences that relate to the education you are learning in the classroom. This experience will allow you to clarify your goals and have a better picture of your future. As a member of the Street Team, I get to explore many of the professional environments that are available to me and discover which creative outlet I’d like to turn into my career.
