Support Happens Here

As I graduated from high school, I wanted to find a college that not only supported my educational journey, but also had a thriving community. As I was researching colleges, the University of West Florida showcased a prominent bachelor’s program in the College of Education and a supportive community. After spending four years here now, I can confirm this is true.

Over the years at UWF, I have had many professors who conveyed how much they cared for the students and their education, including Dr. Dow Blue, adjunct instructor in the Department of Psychology. Not only would Dr. Blue teach us valuable information, but he would also remind us that if we worked diligently, he believed our dreams were achievable. As someone who has always had a passion for helping children excel in all stages of their life, I hope to pay forward this care and kindness towards my own students one day.

Throughout my time here at UWF, I have found compassion and support from my professors, my friendships and the Pensacola community. Having the freedom to be your true self, find like-minded people and trust your community has shaped me into the person I am today. One piece of advice I have for students is as you fill your days here at UWF, be bold, have fun and be a person who loves and uplifts others.
