Gabi Moulton

B.S. in General Business, Minor: Legal Studies Pre-Law, '27

When I committed to play volleyball at UWF at 17 years old, I never would have anticipated the ways I would be challenged and the growth that would ensue. From the moment I arrived at the University, I learned to wholeheartedly embrace each obstacle I faced, allowing me to grow into who I am today. My coach, Melissa Wolter, has been a big part of that change. As my mentor, leader and professional role model, Coach Wolter truly embodies growth and has never missed an opportunity to push me past complacency in all aspects of my life. Her wisdom, empathy and support is undoubtedly the reason that I stand where I am today.

Both my education in legal studies pre-law and my experience as a player on the University’s volleyball team eventually sparked an interest in a career in sports law. I cannot imagine a better time to pursue this career field than during UWF’s historic transition to Division I athletics. As an athlete, Division I opens up bigger and better game opportunities. As a student, this experience has expanded my education beyond the pre-law department. Now, I have the opportunity to learn about applicable legislation through the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the NCAA. Through this transition, UWF has facilitated my growth in ways that I never expected. I am grateful that here at UWF, the pursuit of growth is fostered and celebrated.

Whether you are a student, an athlete or just starting your career, growing is essential. You may never be cognizant of where you are most needed if you choose to stay in one place. At UWF, the environment will challenge your thinking, develop your skills and support your passions. For me, UWF has helped me grow in my leadership, humility and relentless tenacity to reach new heights.
