Ceramics with the UWF Department of Art & Design
June 15, 2026
Camp Description
This ceramics camp focuses on three-dimensional sculptural form, encouraging middle school students to think beyond simple vessels and toward expressive objects and figures. Students will learn hand-building techniques such as additive construction, carving, and surface treatment while developing personal sculptural ideas. Completed sculptures will be kiln fired, glazed, and fired again, giving students experience with professional ceramic processes and materials. The camp balances structure and freedom, helping students build confidence, problem-solving skills, and an understanding of clay as both a material and a sculptural medium.
