Ceramics with the UWF Department of Art & Design
June 22, 2026
Camp Description
In this playful, hands-on ceramics camp, elementary students will explore clay through the creation of pinch pot bowl animals that combine simple functional forms with imaginative sculptural details. Students will learn basic hand-building techniques by shaping bowls and transforming them into animals using texture, pattern, and expressive features. Finished works will be kiln fired, glazed, and fired again, introducing students to the full ceramic process from soft clay to finished artwork. The camp emphasizes creativity, fine motor skills, and joyful experimentation while teaching respect for materials and tools.
