Karen Bruening has been teaching at Pensacola High School for 9 years, and spent 8 years of that time building up the Engineering Team, helping the team compete in BEST Robotics, VEX Robotics, Electrathon, and Aerial Drones. She has been a Society for Science Advocate for the past 2 years, encouraging students to compete in science research competitions, and has sponsored activities that encourage women in engineering and STEM. She will be working at the Beulah Academy of Science starting this fall, and will be working to start a SWENext Club (under the umbrella of the Society of Women Engineers) in the greater Pensacola Community this summer.
