Fall 2020 Welcome
Fall 2020 is unlike any other. Please read this important welcome message from Dean Crawley and explore the resources available to you at the College of Education and Professional Studies.
Whether you are a returning College of Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) student or are joining UWF for the first time, we are so glad you are here. Welcome.
We are all facing uncertainty as a result of the challenges that COVID-19 presents, and we want to assure you that the College of Education and Professionals studies is prepared. CEPS has taken steps to ensure that our students receive flexible course offerings that maintain the student-centric focus that has always been a hallmark of our College.
CEPS leaders have held individual conversations with every faculty member to understand how each course might best be delivered in the current climate. We have reordered course sequencing as necessary and diversified course offerings with an eye toward creativity and flexibility. We have also reviewed feedback from a diverse set of students to better understand the challenges of this new learning environment and how we might best respond to our students’ needs. Please feel free to reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org at any time if you have questions, concerns or feedback that you feel is not being adequately addressed.
We enjoy a strong culture of mentoring in the College. Students have a faculty mentor, a professional advising mentor, and are given the option of a peer mentor through our partnership with Mentor Collective. Please connect with your academic advisor; advising is a point of pride at CEPS. Our academic advisors are passionate and caring, and if they don’t have an answer to your questions, they will connect you with someone who does.
We encourage our students to partake in hands-on learning experiences through internships, field work, classroom activities and our Emerge Scholars Program.
Please explore what we have to offer, and feel free to call us, email us, or connect with us on social media. Welcome to the College of Education and Professional Studies!
