About Us
The Wright Family Institute for Global and Population Health, which opened its doors on September 21, 2024, is dedicated to advancing the health and well-being of populations through innovative research, education, and community engagement.
Founded with a commitment to addressing the most pressing health challenges of our time, we leverage interdisciplinary collaboration and a strong network of partnerships to drive meaningful change on a local and global scale.
At the heart of our mission is the belief that health is a fundamental human right. Our team of experts works tirelessly to explore the complex interplay of social, economic, and environmental factors that influence health outcomes. Through rigorous research and evidence-based practices, we aim to develop effective strategies and interventions that empower communities and promote health equity. Dedicated to helping our local needs first, we plan to put those strategies and interventions to practical use in our own local community in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties before extending our reach across the globe.
As we grow and develop in our initial stages, we are purposing to develop community outreach initiatives which will provide vital resources and support to underserved populations, fostering a culture of health and resilience, while simultaneously providing research and experience opportunities to University of West Florida students - particularly those engaged in our Public Health degree programs within the Usha Kundu, MD College of Health.
As we look to the future, the Wright Family Institute is committed to expanding our impact through innovative research, strategic partnerships, and a dedication to continuous learning. We invite you to join us on this journey toward a healthier, more equitable world for all.
