Overview

Founded in 1950, Tamkang University is Taiwan's oldest private institution of higher education. Tamkang University focuses on ideals, vision, and creativity. This has led to Tamkang University winning the prestigious National Quality Award in 2009. Continuing to promote a culture of excellence, Tamkang University hosts students from around the world and offers innovative coursework all conducted in English.

Academics

Undergraduate courses focus on International Diplomacy, International Relations, and International Business. Coursework emphasizes Taiwan's unique geo-political situation and highlights regional issues such as U.S.-Sino relations, and the foreign policy of mainland China. In addition, Tamkang University has a complete Chinese language program for students offering intensive classes.

Living Experience

Accommodations are available in the Reitaku International House on-campus. The Reitaku International House is a global living, learning community in a modern dorm-style building. Off-campus housing can also be rented. 

Budget

Costs of participation may be less than you think! 

International Programs is currently offering a $5,000 Study in Taiwan scholarship to students who are approved for the program. Speak with an International Programs advisor or email studyabroad@uwf.edu for more information. 

Compared to UWF estimated direct cost of $7,970 for tuition, housing and meals per semester, or $15,940 for an academic year for in-state residents, the cost of a semester of study at Tamkang University is between $5,000 and $7,000, and $10,000 to $15,400 for an academic year. Costs vary by housing type and single or shared living spaces and meal selection. Tuition is paid on a semester basis to UWF and is charged at the same rate (in-state or out-of-state) that you pay when studying in Pensacola. This cost estimate does not include cost of international travel to include flight, visa, passport, and insurance.
