The Student Org Bash is an annual celebration for all student organizations. Each year the theme is unique and revealed during the spring semester. All members and advisors of UWF student organizations are welcome to come and enjoy live performances, food, chance drawings for great prizes, and the presentation of awards!
The awards are designed to recognize the achievements of UWF student organizations each academic year. All Registered, Departmental, and Greek student organizations are eligible and any individual (UWF faculty, staff, student) involved may apply or nominate another individual. Listed below are the categories for recognition:
This award is given to the student organization that has shown commitment
to the overall mission of the University of West Florida. The Outstanding
Student Organization exhibits excellence in the areas of service, member
development, and collaboration (i.e. other student groups, departments,
charity organizations). We look for the organization that best utilizes its
resources in engaging and promoting student involvement.

2010-11 Winners: Harry Potter Conference Committee & American Society for Microbiology
This award is given to a new student organization that has had a very
successful year. The organization works to promote itself among the
campus community. We are looking for a student organization that has
stepped up with leadership, programming, and promotion of group’s
mission.

2010-11 Winner: American Society for Microbiology
This award is designed to recognize an organization’s outstanding student-
led program or event. To be eligible events or programs include: service
projects, social events, or workshops and training programs. The creative
direction, planning, and execution must be done by the student group, an
event cannot be carried out by a faculty/staff member, but an advisor(s)
can be involved.

This award will recognize an outstanding departmental student organization.
To be eligible for this award, the organization must be a departmental
student organization.

This award recognizes registered student organization in each of the sub-
categories: academic/honors, cultural, professional, political focus, religious,

The Student Affairs Student Leadership Awards Banquet is an annual award ceremony for the departments within the Division of Student Affairs to recognize student leadership across the UWF campus.
The awards presented at the Student Affairs Student Leadership Awards Banquet on behalf of the student organization program are designed to recognize individuals with awards that were inspired by The Leadership Challenge's Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership by authors, Kouze and Posner, which provides a framework for understanding the many ways our students engage in campus leadership. All Registered, Departmental, and Greek student organizations are eligible any individual (UWF faculty, staff, student) involved may apply or nominate another individual. Listed below are the categories for recognition:
Student leader who creates and maintains standards for behavior and
leadership. Leads others by setting an example.

Student leader who whole-heartedly believes in the goals of the
organization and communicates a distinct vision. Leader sees abilities in
others and enables them to act.
2012-13 Winner: Cora Merritt
Student leader who shows undying hope, enthusiasm, and determination
and truly cares for the organization. Leader connects with each individual
member.
2012-13 Winner: Chelsea Kendrick
Student leader who seizes opportunities to challenge the status quo. Leader
is innovative, takes risks, and perceives failures as opportunities to learn
and grow.
2012-13 Winner: Amy Bueno
Student leader who subtly influences the organization by strengthening
others and striving to create an atmosphere of trust and inclusion.
2012-13 Winners: Nichelle Vantassle
Advisor who is actively involved and has performed above and beyond
expectations of an organization advisor by truly enriching and enhancing
students' experience in the organization. Advisor emphasizes academic
performance, involvement in the campus and community, service/
volunteerism, integration and retention of members, and leadership
development.
