UWF Women in Engineering – In 2006, a network of individuals who share the following goals was established:
- Encourage young girls to participate in science and math classes to prepare them for college/a career in the science/engineering field.
- Provide support to young women who are pursue science and engineering degrees at UWF
- Foster an environment that is encouraging and supportive of women engineering students to enhance their success in obtaining degrees and eventual contribution to society.
Results to date:
- Increased professional networking between partnerships between participants
- Raised $13,500 towards $20,000 endowment goal
- Society of Women Engineers professional chapter has strengthened participation with UWF SWE student chapter
- Volunteer recruitment for the Emerald Coast BEST Robotics
