Special Thanks

Partnerships with corporations and professional associations are critical to our students' success because they offer practical experiences, internships, co-ops, capstone experiences, and ultimately, career opportunities. We are grateful to all of our partners and especially honored to thank the following for their outstanding support.

Technology ExpoMore than 100 students in technical and engineering disciplines were showcased at the first UWF Engineering and Technology Career Expo this November. During the fall semester, Career Services began hosting events that highlight specific curriculum areas. Nearly 30 recruiters were seeking interns, CoOps, and full-time candidates.  A special thank you to the following companies for their participation: AppRiver, Bit-Wizards, CGI, CTS Inc., Expro Americas, Florida Auditor General, Homerun Holdings Corp., INROADS, Gulf Power/Southern Company, PowerSouth, US Air Force Officer Programs, US Marine Corps Officer Programs, and US Navy Officer Programs.

UWF is grateful to the Northwest Florida Chapter of the Florida Engineering Society (FES) for their commitment to establish a new scholarship to support pre-engineering or engineering majors in the School of Science and Engineering.  Awards will be merit-based and preference will be for student chapter members or children of Northwest Florida chapter of the society.

According to Scott Jernigan, FES President, "one of the key components of the Mission Statement for FES is to promote engineering education. A number of years ago, the NWFL chapter created the Pensacola State College (PSC) engineering scholarship to promote the engineering curriculum for local students. With the creation of the UWF FES student chapter a few years ago, the NWFL Board decided we needed to provide students at UWF opportunities similar to what we have at PSC. We decided an endowed scholarship was the best way to offer sustained financial support for UWF students and promote the local chapter in the process.  We are excited about completing the endowment and awarding our first NWFL FES Engineering Scholarship."
