About Me - |
I grew up in small town in Arkansas. Throughout high school I played basketball and was a member of both the track and cross country teams. After graduating high school in 2003, I attended the University of Arkansas and pursued a degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Exercise Physiology/Biomechanics. It was there that I gained the experience and education to make me excel in the field of exercise. I received my first personal training certification in 2005 and began training at the university in January, 2006. I had the opportunity to train with many diverse populations ranging from young college students, to sedentary adults, to those with disabilities. Although I loved one-on-one personal training, I discovered my true passion is small group training. I felt that those who trained in groups were supportive of each others’ similar goals and more likely to adhere to an exercise program. After personal training for a year and a half, I pursued various group fitness certifications to gain the tools to reach a larger audience. I traveled to Dallas, TX; Chicago, IL; and Birmingham, AL; to receive my continued group certifications and education. Shortly after, I began teaching at a local fitness club while continuing to train at the university.
I graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2007 with my Bachelors in Exercise Science: Exercise Physiology/Biomechanics. I moved to Pensacola, FL where I accepted the Fitness/Wellness Graduate Position at the University of West Florida. I continued my education by pursuing a Masters in Exercise Science. While at the university, I implemented many fitness incentive programs. Many of these programs were designed to target the population of individuals who don’t exercise and are too intimidated to enter the gym. One of these programs was called Women On Weights (WOW), which targeted women of all fitness levels from mid-twenties to mid-fifties. WOW was a huge success and spaces available for the program began filling just after the first day of registration. WOW has continued to fill at this rate since the initial program.
It was after running the initial WOW program that I realized my purpose in life: to create life changing experiences for others through exercise. I know I can help one achieve their fitness goals. I have watched some of my clients transform their bodies. I have listened as many told me how much happier they are with their lives since engaging in exercise. I have seen many of my clients come off their prescriptions for certain medications; including medications for Type II Diabetes. I feel these miracles would not have been possible without my support and encouragement.
I feel that my relationships with my clients set me apart from many other fitness professionals in the field. I take a personal interest in each person I have the opportunity to work with. I care about the lives of my clients both inside and outside of the gym. My goal is to not to just make money, or increase one’s adherence to an exercise program; but to increase one’s overall quality of life and well-being. My focus is on the impact I can have on an individual’s life. I know I can make a difference and will continue to do so through “ReZults Boot Camp.”
