UWF Historic Trust

Dedicated to collecting, preserving, interpreting and communicating the history of Northwest Florida, the UWF Historic Trust is a non-profit direct support organization (DSO) of the University of West Florida. Previously known as West Florida Historic Preservation, Inc., the Trust manages 29 properties, spanning from historic downtown Pensacola to Milton, Fla.

The Key to Our Past

The Historic Pensacola properties consists of 28 locations on the National Register, and 11 of these properties are interpreted facilities that are open to the public. The T.T. Wentworth, Jr. Florida State Museum, originally the 1908 City Hall building, is a virtual treasure trove of historic artifacts, Americana, and West Florida history, housing three floors of permanent and traveling exhibits. The Pensacola Children’s Museum features two floors of hands-on learning fun. The Arcadia Mill Archaeological Site, located in Milton, Florida, is an antebellum industrial site offering visitors a historical experience as well as the opportunity to visit a unique wetland ecosystem. The Norman Simons Building houses the Pensacola Historical Society Resource Center.
