Florida Chapter Local Meeting

The University of West Florida will host the MAA Florida chapter local meeting Friday, November 21, 2008. This year’s meeting will be divided into two sessions. The morning session will consist of student presentations and the afternoon session, following lunch, will consist of teaching and/or research presentations.

• We invite all students working on a research project, pro seminar, thesis, etc. to give a 15 minute presentation of their work.
• We invite all instructors to give a 20 minute presentation on some intriguing and insightful method for teaching mathematics or statistics.
• We also invite all instructors to give a 20 minute presentation of their research that may not be specific to teaching.

There is a $10 registration fee which includes refreshments and a lunch buffet. Registration for students is free.

We hope that all of us in the Northwest Florida area will decide to participate in some way. If you wish to present or have a student that wishes to present please respond to the emails below with your name, your institution, and the title and abstract of your presentation.
