The Department of Marketing and Economics offers undergraduate degree programs that prepare students for a successful career path. The Department consists of 13 full-time faculty members with different teaching and research interests including logistics and transportation, sales management, international business, marketing research, Internet commerce, international economics, environmental economics, and public policy.
A distinctive feature of the department is its focus on the international content of the programs. Specifically, those students interested in an international experience can select either global marketing or global economics and spend a semester overseas at any of the institutions with whom we have exchange programs, including those in Europe, Asia, as well as in the Americas.
The undergraduate programs of the department include a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S.B.A.) with a major in Marketing and one with a major in Economics. Each program offers several specialization options. In marketing students can select from comprehensive marketing, e-commerce marketing, global marketing and sales management. And in economics the specialization options include comprehensive economics, economic research, and global economics.
The department also offers a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics (though the College of Arts and Social), a degree selected by students interested, for instance, in graduate school, in a law degree program, or in a career in the public sector as an economic analyst.
In addition, the department offers different minors in each of the two disciplines, marketing and economics, as well as a number of certificates and internship opportunities.
