Email & Calendar

UWF student email and calendar is accessed through UWF Gmail at http://gmail.students.uwf.edu. Students log in with their official ArgoNet username and password. Student email addresses consist of their ArgoNet username followed by "@students.uwf.edu" (ex. abc1@students.uwf.edu). Students receive over 7GB of email storage space, along with additional storage space for Google Docs, Sites, and other Google Apps resources. Google was selected for UWF students because it offers unparalleled availability, security, and collaboration tools.

UWF faculty and staff use ArgoMail, UWF's web email service, or Microsoft Outlook/Entourage. Employee email addresses are their ArgoNet username followed by "@uwf.edu" (ex. aclark@uwf.edu). Email security is a high priority with all UWF email accounts. UWF has computer servers that are dedicated to scanning and filtering all incoming email to remove viruses and spam. These filtering servers, called IronMail appliances, are a high-end solution from CipherTrust, a leading company in the field. To maintain their effectiveness, these appliances receive frequent software updates from the manufacturer. Approximately 75% of all email received by UWF is spam. Our IronMail spam filters are able to detect and remove 85% of these spam emails before they reach students and employees.
