Student Perspective

“Completing the master’s program in Exceptional Student Education at UWF has been a rewarding experience that has equipped me with the knowledge to excel in the field of education.  By choosing this program, I have been able to complete my coursework from home, all at a flexible pace that best fit my individual needs.  Choosing the ABA cognate program in coordination with the Exceptional Student Education program provided me with the opportunity to learn the science of Applied Behavior Analysis from highly qualified instructors and allowed me the opportunity to network with students across the United States.  Throughout my entire experience, the faculty and staff at UWF have been supportive and provided me with the encouragement that I needed in order to be successful in this program.“ — Kara Etheredge, Graduate Student

Faculty Perspective

“Students in our Master of Education program will find the courses engaging and relevant. Faculty members who teach in the program remain current in the field and maintain currency in K-12 education.  Once students have completed their required content and elective courses, they will develop and carry out an action research project. This culminating experience will allow them to engage in the act of research as they seek to answer questions of interest regarding teaching, student learning, or other approved pertinent areas.  This capstone experience results in an action research paper that addresses their chosen research problem.  Many graduates remark that the research knowledge gained helps them to be more reflective and purposeful in their professions. — Dave Stout, Associate Professor
