The University of West Florida, School of Nursing will be hosting an accreditation site visit from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) October 12-14, 2016. The visit is part of the process for seeking continued professional nursing accreditation through CCNE of the Baccalaureate Nursing Program. This evaluation is formulated around the Standards for Accreditation of Baccalaureate and Graduate Nursing Programs (2013).
Beginning August 26th, 2016 the School of Nursing will begin to offer weekly tours to all Non-UWF students. There will be a tour followed by a Q&A session with the program advisor from the BSN program! Tours are offered on Fridays at 1:00 p.m. so please email email@example.com to reserve your spot! On August 8, 2015 UWF welcomed Dr. Randall Johnson as the new Chair of Nursing. Dr. Johnson received his BSN from Cedarville University, in Cedarville, OH and has been a licensed Registered Nurse since 1985. He holds an MSN from the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, PA, with his degree as a Nurse Practitioner and Clinical Nurse Specialist, and 2007 he completed his Doctorate in Philosophy in Nursing at the University of Central Florida.
Dr. Johnson has held nursing positions in both clinical and manager roles. He entered academia in 1999 while teaching in an Associates of Science Degree program in Orlando, FL. In 2009 he accepted a teaching appointment in both undergraduate and graduate levels at Cedarville University in Cedarville, OH., and in 2014 was appointed the Assistant Dean and Director of Graduate Nursing programs.
