UWF's CLS Program is accredited by NAACLS (National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Personnel) and approved by the Board of Clinical Laboratory Personnel (BCLP) of the state of Florida. The Program has a history of 35 + years of successful operation and has a reputation for excellence in the education and training of clinical laboratory personnel. Since 1986 the Program has been offered through a university-based clinical laboratory sciences curriculum, with a capstone component of 29 weeks of practicum at one of the 8 affiliate hospitals across Northwest and Central Florida.
Graduates of the Program are eligible to obtain national Board certification through an examination given by ASCP-Board of Registry (certified as MT-ASCP) or National Credentialing Agency (certified as CLS-NCA), or by other equivalent certification Boards.
