Scholarships

The Center for Cybersecurity offers scholarships to undergraduates in Cybersecurity and IT- related majors.


2017 - 2018 Undergraduate IT Performance Scholarships

The UWF Center for Cybersecurity has IT Performance Scholarships available for students pursuing the following undergraduate majors: CS, CIS, Cybersecurity, SE, IT, CE, and MIS. Current and transfer students in the above majors are encouraged to apply.

The UWF Center for Cybersecurity has IT Performance Scholarships available for students pursuing the following undergraduate majors:

Computing and Information Sciences, B.S.
Computer Science
Computer Information Systems
Cybersecurity
Software Engineering
Information Technology, B.S.
Information Technology
Network Systems Operations
Digital Enterprise
Computer Engineering, B.S.C.E.
Management Information Systems, B.S.B.A.

Current and transfer students in the above majors are encouraged to apply.

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria for Current/Transfer Students:

  1. Must be enrolled in one of the majors listed above
  2. Must be in good academic standing
  3. Must maintain an overall GPA of at least 3.0
  4. Must have completed at least 50 semester hours
  5. Must enroll in at least 12 semester hours for fall and spring for the semesters they will receive the scholarship and take at least 2 major related courses each semester
  6. To receive summer funding ($500), students must enroll in at least 3 semester hours for the summer that they receive the scholarship.

Preference will be given to:

  • students who are expected to graduate in 1 – 2 yrs
  • students enrolled in or transferring to the BS/Cybersecurity program

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria for New Students:

In addition to the scholarships described above for current/transfer students, a few scholarships may be given to recruit students for the BS/Cybersecurity program according to the following criteria:

  1. Must be enrolled in BS/Cybersecurity program
  2. Must be in good academic standing
  3. Must maintain an overall GPA of at least 3.0
  4. Must enroll in at least 12 semester hours for fall and spring for the semesters they will receive the scholarship and take at least 2 major related courses each semester
  5. To receive summer funding ($500), students must enroll in at least 3 semester hours for the summer that they receive the scholarship.

Scholarship awards are competitive. Based on available funding, not all eligible applicants may receive scholarships.

Scholarship Amount:

Each scholarship recipient will receive a total award of up to $2500: $1000 per semester for 2 consecutive semesters (fall 2017 and spring 2018) plus one summer award of $500 (summer 2018) if the student meets summer enrollment criteria.

Scholarship Requirements:

  • Students must continue to meet the eligibility criteria listed above for each semester that they receive the award. Student standing will be monitored and students who do not meet eligibility criteria each semester will lose their funding.
  • Students who receive awards will be named as “CS Scholars” and will be required to participate in the CS Scholars Program, designed to help students succeed in their majors and future careers. This will involve attending at least 1-2 meetings or professional development activities per semester of funding.
