Scholarships

The Center for Cybersecurity offers scholarships to undergraduates in Cybersecurity-related majors.


2019 - 2020 Center for Cybersecurity Undergraduate Scholarships

The UWF Center for Cybersecurity has a scholarship available for students pursuing the following undergraduate majors:

Computer Science, B.S.
Cybersecurity, B.S.
Software Design & Development, B.S.
Information Technology, B.S.
Computer Engineering, B.S.C.E.
Management Information Systems, B.S.B.A.

Students in previous catalog years in the majors below are also eligible for the Center for Cybersecurity Undergraduate Scholarship:

  • Computing and Information Sciences, B.S.
    • Computer Science
    • Computer Information Systems
    • Cybersecurity
    • Software Engineering
  • Information Technology, B.S.
    • Information Technology
    • Network Systems Operations
    • Digital Enterprise

Current and transfer students in the above majors are encouraged to apply. If you are not sure of your eligibility, please email cybersecurity@uwf.edu.

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria for Current/Transfer Students:

  1. Must be enrolled in one of the majors listed above
  2. Must be in good academic standing
  3. Must maintain an overall GPA of at least 3.0
  4. Must have completed at least 50 semester hours
  5. Must enroll in at least 12 semester hours for fall and spring of the semesters they will receive the scholarship and must take at least 2 major related courses each semester
  6. To receive summer funding ($500), students must enroll in at least 3 semester hours for the summer that they receive the scholarship

Preference will be given to:

  • students who are expected to graduate in 1 – 2 years
  • students enrolled in or transferring to the B.S./Cybersecurity program or B.S./Computing and Information Sciences, Cybersecurity specialization

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria for New Students:

In addition to the scholarships described above for current/transfer students, a few scholarships may be given to recruit students for the B.S./Cybersecurity program according to the following criteria:

  1. Must be enrolled in B.S./Cybersecurity program
  2. Must be in good academic standing
  3. Must maintain an overall GPA of at least 3.0
  4. Must enroll in at least 12 semester hours for fall and spring of the semesters they will receive the scholarship and must take at least 2 major related courses each semester
  5. To receive summer funding ($500), students must enroll in at least 3 semester hours for the summer that they receive the scholarship

Scholarship Amount:

Each scholarship recipient will receive a total award of up to $2,500: $1,000 per semester for 2 consecutive semesters (fall and spring) plus one summer award of $500 if the student meets summer enrollment criteria.

Scholarship Requirements:

Students must continue to meet the eligibility criteria listed above for each semester that they receive the award. Student standing will be monitored and students who do not meet eligibility criteria each semester will lose their funding.

Application Deadline:

The deadline to apply for the 2019-2020 scholarship has passed. 
You will be notified once selections have been made.

*Scholarship awards are competitive. Not all eligible applicants will receive a scholarship.
