Scholarships are usually awarded every fall and spring to the top undergraduate student in each of the following programs;

• Biology
• Marine Biology

Mertis "Sunny" Brown Scholarship Award
Scholarships for students majoring in Biology, forestry or related disciplines which involve the study, conservation, and preservation of wild bird life in North America.  
Primarily for residents of Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.

Solutia Environmental Scholarship
An environmental studies scholarship.  Financial need and academic achievement considered. Must show satisfactory progress toward completion of course study.  Minimum GPA’s required: graduate, 3.5 and undergraduate 3.0.   Renewable.

Roger Reid Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship for graduate or undergraduate student.

The criteria for our undergraduate scholarships are listed below: 

1. There’s no application; students are awarded based on highest UWF gpa earned.
2. Student must be at least junior level and must have at least one full-time semester completed at UWF.
3. Student must be enrolled full-time for the semester of award.
4. If there’s a tie in the gpa, the biology faculty vote on the recipient.
5. Minimum gpa required is 3.50.

Scholarships usually cover textbook costs and the amount may vary each term.
