2 year Army ROTC scholarships are for students who only need two year of college to complete a degree. This applies to a student with an AA that needs two years for a bachelors, a student with a bachelors who wants a masters or a student with a masters who needs two years for a doctorate. The two year Army ROTC scholarship pays two years of tuition and fees, provides $1,200 each year for books and pays the student a monthly stipend (450.00 each academic month the first year and 500.00 each academic month the second year.
In order to qualify for the 2 year scholarship, a student must be qualified by a doctor, pass a physical fitness test (consisting of pushups, situps and a 2 mile run), meet age requirements, be accepted by the university where they want to use the scholarship and receive credit for the first 2 years of the ROTC program. There are several very easy ways for students to receive credit for the first 2 years of ROTC. Those who are prior service automatically receive credit, as do those who had 4 years of high school junior ROTC. Others ways to obtain credit are available. Students should contact us to learn about other options for receiving credit.
Students who receive a 2 year Army ROTC scholarship must agree to serve as an Army officer in either the Active Army, Army Reserve or Florida Army National Guard. For additional information contact our ROTC Scholarship/Enrollment Advisor Mr. John Brake at jbrake@uwf.edu.
