UWF gifted historic book signed by Declaration signer

The University of West Florida Libraries has received a rare historical volume bearing the signature of George Walton, one of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence. The book was donated to the University Archives and West Florida History Center as the United States marks the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

UWF ranks No. 2 in Florida State University System Board of Governors’ performance metrics, first to meet every accountability goal

The University of West Florida ranked No. 2 among Florida's 12 public universities in the Florida Board of Governors' 2025-26 performance-based funding model and was the only institution in the State University System to meet all 11 accountability goals. UWF earned 92 out of 100 points, one point higher than last year, trailing only the University of South Florida.

UWF professor secures $825,000 grant to support cancer survivors

University of West Florida Assistant Professor of Public Health Dr. Karishma Chhabria Unrue has been awarded a nearly $825,000 grant through the Florida Cancer Innovation Fund to lead a statewide initiative focused on improving the health and well-being of breast and prostate cancer survivors.
