Event Venues

The UWF Historic Trust operates a several venues, each boasting awe inspiring environments for any gathering. Just as sharing our history includes making these spaces available to the public for special events, preserving our history includes protecting these valuable community assets. For more information about renting these Historic Venues for external events, please visit the Weddings and Gatherings page on the historicpensacola.org website. The following information on this page relates to internal UWF events hosted by UWF Departments. 

UWF Department Events

The UWF Historic Trust venues can be rented by UWF Departments for university events. The UWF Department rate for most of these venues is $50.00 an hour. This rate only applies to university events hosted by a UWF Department. This rate is not for individual UWF students, staff, faculty, or alumni.

Museum of Commerce

Museum of Commerce

The Museum of Commerce provides a snapshot into life in a 1890s streetscape complete with historic store fronts and artifacts on exhibit. While the space may be busy with action, your event will take center stage. Whether you are planning a reception, lecture, luncheon or banquet, department party, or concert, this space puts your event dreams into motion. 

Time Availability:

The Museum of Commerce is available for rent beginning at 3:00pm Monday through Saturday, and all day on Sunday.

Capacity:

The Museum of Commerce can accommodate 150-175 for seated functions and 200-250 for receptions. Tables and chairs are available for up to 200 guests.

Equipment:

Booking includes the use of (200) white chairs, (16) five-foot round tables, (12) six-foot rectangular tables, (12) eight-foot rectangular tables, and (6) cocktail tables. Linens are not provided.

The catering prep area includes a standard refrigerator/freezer, ice machine, and hand wash sink. There is no stove, microwave, or other heating appliance. Cooking is not permitted inside the museum.

Voices of Pensacola

Voices of Pensacola

Opened in 2014, this multicultural center highlights the diversity of the city through exhibits representative of culture groups that have shaped Pensacola history. This space includes an oral history recording room where additional stories can be recorded and archived. Voices of Pensacola is the perfect space for department retreats, community gatherings, or educational programs.

Time Availability:

Voices of Pensacola is available for rent beginning at 3:00pm Monday through Friday, and all day Saturday and Sunday.

Capacity:

Voices of Pensacola can accommodate 40-50 for seated functions and 75-100 for receptions. Tables and chairs are available for up to 50 guests.

Equipment:

Booking includes the use of (50) gray chairs, (7) four-foot round tables, (10) six-foot rectangular tables, and (6) cocktail tables. Linens are not provided.

A small prep space is available with a sink and mini refrigerator.

Bowden Building

The J. Earle Bowden Building is located at 120 Church Street and serves as the offices for the UWF Historic Trust staff. The first floor of the building includes two classrooms that can be used by UWF departments for meetings, staff retreats, and lectures.

Time Availability:

The classrooms in the Bowden Building can be used by UWF Department for free Monday through Friday between 8:00am and 4:00pm

Capacity:

The large classroom can accommodate 35-40 with tables and chairs, and 50-75 with chairs only. The small classroom can accommodate 15-20 with tables and chairs, and 25 with chairs only. 

Equipment:

Both rooms include a projector and screen, but no computer. A laptop can be connected to the projector via HDMI. Wifi is available in both rooms.

Food and drinks are permitted, but the host is responsible for all clean-up and the removal of trash.

Pensacola Museum of Art

Your unique event deserves a unique space. There is no place better to hold your next special event than the Pensacola Museum of Art, the hub of visual arts in our city. The PMA serves as the perfect spot to host art-centric special events, receptions, department gatherings. 

Time Availability:

The Pensacola Museum of Art is available for rent beginning at 3:00pm Monday through Sunday.

Capacity:

The Pensacola Museum of Art can accommodate up to 100 guests for special events. However, the capacity is subject to change depending on the current exhibit. 

Equipment:

Booking includes the use of (6) five-foot round tables, (7) six-foot rectangular tables, (6) cocktail tables and approximately 45 chairs. Linens are not provided.

Trader Jon's Exhibit

One of Pensacola's top tourist destinations for decades, Trader Jon's was named after infamous owner Martin "Trader Jon" Weissman. Decorated with photos and memorabilia, this space was a safe haven where young flight students, military personnel, astronauts and movie stars rubbed shoulders with local politicians, characters and the occasional ne'er-do-well. Any intimate event with a lively group of friends would be perfectly suited for this vibrant space, inside the Pensacola Museum of History. 

Time Availability:

The Trader Jon's Exhibit is available beginning at 3:00pm Monday through Sunday. 

Capacity:

The Trader Jon's Exhibit can accommodate 50-75 guests for receptions only.

Equipment:

Booking includes the use of (6) cocktail tables. Linens are not provided.

Museum Plaza

Museum Plaza

This picturesque park, located behind the Pensacola Museum of History, opened in 2019 and is the largest venue space at the Historic Trust. With over 13,000 feet of event space, the possibilities are endless on the plaza. Set the stage for you next large event in this multi-use green space. Museum Plaza includes an outdoor education center featuring a covered stage and seating area ideal for presentations, performances, lectures and other outdoor activities. 

Time Availability:

Museum Plaza is available anytime Monday through Sunday. 

Capacity:

Museum Plaza can easily accommodate 400 attendees. 

Equipment:

Tables, chairs, tents, AV equipment, barricades, trash cans, and other equipment are not provided for Museum Plaza. This venue does not include restrooms. 

Museum Plaza includes a stage with electrical outlets, but no audio/visual equipment is provided.

Fountain Park

Fountain Park

If you are looking for a picturesque option for your next event, Fountain Park is the perfect respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. South of Seville Square, this small park has a decorative fountain, donated by the Fleming family, highlighting various scenes of Pensacola history. This location serves as a beautiful backdrop for small gatherings, festivals, and celebrations. 

Time Availability:

Fountain Park is available anytime Monday through Sunday. 

Capacity:

Fountain Park can easily accommodate 200 attendees. 

Equipment:

Tables, chairs, tents, AV equipment, barricades, trash cans, and other equipment are not provided for Museum Plaza. This venue does not include restrooms. 


Old Christ Church is one of the oldest churches in Florida on its original foundation.

Old Christ Church

Completed in 1832, Old Christ Church is one of the oldest surviving church buildings in Florida, serving the Pensacola community as an Episcopal Church, public library and museum. The building was also occupied by federal troops during the Civil War. The restored church provides a beautiful backdrop for concerts and speaking events.

Time Availability:

Old Christ Church is available for events beginning at 3:00pm Tuesday through Friday and anytime Saturday through Monday. 

Capacity:

Old Christ Church can accommodate approximately 150 guests.

Barkley House

Barkley House

Barkley House is one of the oldest masonry houses in Florida and the last remaining early 19th century example of a High House in Pensacola. George Barkley, a successful Pensacola merchant, built the house between 1825 and 1830 from bricks salvaged from Pensacola’s British fortifications. The Barkley family lived in the house through the 1950s. Today it is an integral piece of Historic Pensacola Village, part of the University of West Florida Historic Trust. Because of its beautiful grounds and spectacular view, it is a popular venue for outdoor receptions, concerts, and large gatherings.

Time Availability:

The Barkley House is available anytime Monday through Sunday.

Capacity:

The Barkley House can accommodate 50-200 people depending on how you use the space. The interior space can accommodate up to 50 guests for standing cocktail reception or 30 guests for seated function. The exterior space can easily accommodate 200 or more guests. Tables and chairs are available for up to 175 guests. 

Equipment:

Booking includes the use of (175) white chairs, (12) five-foot round tables, (12) six-foot rectangular tables, (12) eight-foot rectangular tables, and (6) cocktail tables. Linens are not provided.

The catering prep area includes a refrigerator, ice machine, warming oven and prep sink, but no stove, oven or microwave. Cooking is not permitted inside the facility.

Tents are not provided by the UWF Historic Trust. Staking is not permitted. Tents may be secured with water barrels or cement blocks.
