Fitness and Sport Coaching

The Fitness & Sport Coaching program prepares students with foundations in: Practical Applications of Fitness and Health, Exercise Administration, and Sport Coaching.

The UWF Fitness & Sport Coaching (FSC) program prepares students for fitness coaching careers in community, recreational, private, athletic, and worksite wellness settings (some of which require certification for employment). The FSC program prepares students to obtain certifications through various organizations such as NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine), ACE (American Council on Education) and/or the Florida Coaching Certificate. The FSC coursework is hands-on, with a focus on activity based learning to develop the practical and applied skills necessary to work in these environments. Additionally, coursework includes health education, program management, and coaching field experiences to advance desirable employment related skills.
