Why Study Global Hospitality and Tourism Management at UWF?

We offer an immersive, well-rounded educational experience guided by experienced faculty. Our location near beautiful Florida Gulf Coast tourist communities provides a living laboratory where you can apply the knowledge and theories you learn in the classroom.

Our program embraces diversity. We welcome traditional, non-traditional and international students interested in a four-year degree, as well as students holding associate's degrees.

We offer classes at three locations: Pensacola campus, UWF Emerald Coast in Fort Walton Beach and Gulf Coast State College in Panama City.

What You Will Learn

We offer a learning environment where you will be challenged and encouraged to pursue your individual career goals while gaining the foundation you need for success in the hospitality and tourism industry.

You will choose one of two specializations: Guest Experience Management or Revenue Management and Predictive Analytics.

A common core of courses will give you an understanding of the interrelationships among the global hospitality and tourism industries, based on the underlying concepts of predictive analytics and quality guest experience management.

You will have multiple opportunities to get involved with the hospitality and tourism industry, including internships and volunteering at events. The Department of Global Hospitality and Tourism Management also hosts industry professionals and conducts industry research.

A minor in global hospitality and tourism management is ideal if you want to apply your major discipline within the fields of hospitality or tourism.


This specialization prepares you to fill the growing demand for leadership positions in resorts, events, convention and visitors’ bureaus, sport facilities, food and beverage, travel and tourism, spas, airlines, hotels, amusement parks, casinos, cruise lines, private clubs and more. You will learn creative problem-solving and gain technical knowledge and communication and leadership skills.

Guest Experience Management Courses

This specialization takes a global approach to education via world-wide experiential learning opportunities enabling you to serve a multinational clientele. You will be prepared to fill the growing international demand for leadership positions. In addition, you will have the opportunity to receive the Certification in Hotel Industry Analytics.
