Why Study Air and Space Studies at UWF?
Air Force ROTC is a pathway to join the United States Air Force and culminates in a commission as a Second Lieutenant. You will receive a minor in aerospace studies and be prepared to join the military as an officer upon graduation.
The AFROTC curriculum provides a firm understanding of basic Air Force doctrine, missions, organization and operations.
We offer generous scholarships, especially for STEM or language majors.

What You Will Learn
The program consists of two phases: the General Military Course and the Professional Officer Course. Each phase is four semesters.
During the General Military Course, you can try out Air Force ROTC without any obligation. In your second year, you will be introduced to the evolution of air and space power and compete for a Field Training allocation for the following summer.
Field Training is a rigorous 14-day program and an outstanding opportunity to develop your skills as a leader and team member. Selection to attend Field Training is competitive and is based on performance, grades, ACT/SAT scores and fitness during the first three semesters in AFROTC.
Professional Officer enrollment is limited to students who have successfully completed Field Training. Upon graduation, all Professional Officer students are obligated to accept a commission and enter the active-duty Air Force.
