Megan Gonzalez serves as the Associate Vice President for Institutional Communications at the University of West Florida, where she drives the University’s integrated marketing, branding and communications strategy.
She leads a creative, innovative team of professionals charged with managing institutional branding, marketing, advertising, communications, publicity, media relations and digital presence.
Megan collaborates with University leadership and key stakeholders to drive the strategic position of the University of West Florida brand to all audiences. She plans, implements and evaluates institutional campaigns and initiatives, ensuring effectiveness, alignment with institutional priorities and exceptional quality.
As a member of the President’s cabinet, Megan provides counsel to University leadership regarding reputation-building opportunities and serves as the lead advisor and strategic planner for all critical communication matters including sensitive issues, crises and emergency communications.
Megan also oversees the institution’s publicity and media relations strategy and serves as a university spokesperson.
Her experience spans from higher education to agency and corporate communications. She has secured coverage for clients with national media outlets such as The Today Show, ABC News, Good Morning America and MSNBC, among others.
