Program Costs

Becoming an IEP student involves costs paid to directly to UWF plus costs paid to outside businesses and government agencies.

UWF Costs

These are the estimated costs for becoming an IEP student paid directly to UWF. All IEP students must pay the UWF costs regardless of immigration or visa status.

IEP Application Fee $150

Paid for every new IEP application.

A student must submit a new application if they fail to request a deferral.

A student must submit a new application if they skip a semester of IEP classes. (This does not apply to IEP students on summer break.)

Orientation Fee $100

Paid when a student arrives with a new Form I-20 & SEVIS number.

This applies to new IEP students and returning IEP students with new SEVIS numbers that have skipped a semester of IEP classes.

Student ID Card Fee $10

Paid 1 time.

Replacing a lost Student ID Card costs $15.

IEP Tuition $3,200~$3,700 Paid every semester.
IEP Testing Fee $100 Paid every semester.
IEP Technology Fee $100 Paid every semester.
UWF Student Health Services Fee $90 Paid every semester.
IEP Late Testing Fee $100

This fee is added to a student's account if they do not attend a required Entry EPT test at the beginning of a semester.

This fee can be applied to new & returning IEP students.

IEP Late Tuition Payment Fee $100

This fee is added to a student's account if they do not pay all tuition and fees before Tuition Deadline #1.

This fee can be applied to new & returning IEP students.

Outside Costs

These are costs that a student will pay directly to an institution like the US government or private business.

Paid every time a new Form I-20 is issued for an F-1 Student Visa.

I-901 SEVIS Fee USCIS ~$200

Paid every time a new SEVIS number is created for an F-1 Student Visa.

International Student Health Insurance Insurance For Students ~$500

F-1 & J-1 Visa holders must always maintain an active health insurance policy even during the summer break. They must provide proof of acceptable health insurance.

This expense can be paid every semester or every year.

This expense is not required if a student's scholarship letter includes health insurance.

This expense is not required if a student submits an acceptable health insurance policy from a different insurance company by completing the UWF Health Insurance Waiver before the waiver deadline.

US Citizens & Permanent Residents do not need to provide proof of acceptable health insurance.

Textbooks and Learning Materials UWF Bookstore or Online Websites $250~$350

All students must purchase the required textbooks and materials for each class.

Students should not purchase "used" books. 

If a student's book already has markings or answers then a student will need to buy a clean, new book.

Students that do not have all required textbooks and materials by the 2nd week of classes may be marked as "Absent" from classes.

Total Costs to Study at IEP

IEP students with F-1 Student Visa are not allowed to work outside of UWF. Because of this students should prepare enough financial support to pay for tuition, fees, housing, food, daily transportation, holiday travel, and emergencies.

The total estimated costs to become an IEP student for 1 semester is $11,200 ~ $12,000 USD.

Immunization Costs

All IEP students, regardless of visa status, must provide documentation of their immunization status for MMR or pay for the vaccine when they arrive $150.

All IEP students, regardless of visa status, must provide documentation of their immunization status for Meningitis & Hepatitis B OR complete the online waiver OR purchase each vaccine when they arrive: Meningitis $122 & Hepatitis B $165.

Before paying for a vaccine, a student may want to first purchase a “Titers” blood test to see if their body needs the vaccine.  If the test shows that the student does not need the vaccine, they do not need to purchase the vaccine. The student's UWF records will be automatically updated with the test results.
