Other Personal Services (OPS) Worker Affordable Care Act Implementation
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act passed by Congress in March 2010 requires employers throughout the country to offer affordable health insurance coverage to employees who work 30 hours or more on average per week. For the purposes of insurance coverage only, these employees will be considered full-time and the state will offer them health insurance coverage and other insurance benefits effective January 1, 2014.
OPS employees with less than 30 hours per week should contact the Florida Marketplace for the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act options that are available (Florida Marketplace or HealthCare.Gov).
